FAQ's

  • What does counselling do? Counselling is a talking therapy that involves a trained and qualified counsellor listening to you and helping you find ways to deal with emotional issues. Counsellors can help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and thought process, and find your own solutions to problems. (NHS website)

  • How many sessions will I need? Unlike most NHS provided counselling, our counselling sessions are bespoke to you. We do however have reviews to see how you are finding the process and ensuring you are benefitting from your sessions.

  • What happens in my first session? At your first session we will briefly talk through how we work, there will also time for you to ask any questions you may have. Afterwards we can review the session to see how you found the process, and then you can either book another session right away or you can get back in touch and book a session at a later time.

  • Can I change or cancel my session? You can change or cancel your session at anytime but we would greatly appreciate as much notice as possible, this would enable us to offer someone else who is waiting the opportunity to start their therapy.

  • Do I have to be referred by my GP to receive counselling? No, anyone can refer themselves for counselling.

  • Will my workplace have to be informed that I am receiving counselling/therapy? No, your counselling/therapy and our service is strictly private and confidential.

  • How long does a counselling session last for? Each session is 60 minutes long.
